Catch up on the escapades of the Sunshine Coast's most notorious soft toy. Don't let the soft, hand-knitted exterior fool you. This monkey is full of vengeance, hatred and could strangle you with his tail. He also likes Pina Coladas and walks in the rain.
I've been alive on this big blue planet. Now i'm living for the first time in my life.

PART II

Saturday saw Dan and I sleeping in till 11, then finishing off his Bouldering Wall. It's not a rock-climbing wall because you don't use ropes. It's all unassisted. We slapped on some 'home made' textured paint and knocked down a few Cold Ones. We washed up and jumped on the train to Youth Alive. I was under the impression that it was on at Boondall Entertainment Centre. Lucky I rang Teegs before we left Central Station and found out it was at the Brisbane Convention Centre otherwise I could have been really embarrassed and quite inconvenienced. It was Amici's Pizza for tea at South Bank Parklands before the show. Yuuuummmmmmy! Dawdling back through the park towards the Convention Centre, we saw some ethnic, visor-wearing whipper-snapper being pinned to the ground by two rent-a-cops. Poor guy. Some security guards can really be over-the-top in their apprehension of apparent offenders. The show was pretty average compared to past Youth Alive gigs. The bassist and drummer were awesome and Jurgen Matthesius presented a great message, but the drawcard of Paulini from Australian Idol and the rest of the show just didn't live up to expectations. Dan had never been to anything like it before though so he didn't know what he was missing out on. I'm just happy he sat through the whole thing and didn't bail on me

Afterwards we grabbed some Cold Rock Ice cream. I got Mango with Bounty mix-in, topped with a scoop of Coconut, but I ended up swapping Tegan for her Mango Gelato with Macadamia mix. We were both much happier with each others flavours. Très Coolness. After almost starting a water fight, we all jumped on the train again for an interesting journey home. Dan & I jumped off at Darra Station and, while waiting 45 minutes for a cab, watched some real Cops hassle some kids. The Police just looked bored and wanting for some action. I hate it when they do that. Especially to some innocent-looking black kids.

Sunday, SUNDAY! Someday! I went to Church at Rivers of Life Christian Centre. I really like it there. The have great preaching which is very Biblically based and cross-referenced so you know it's for real. The points of the messages are always very clear and on every occasion I have walked away with something very applicable to me and quite thought-provoking to ponder for the week. Straight after, we took off to catch Raimey, Cara, Rob, Bronnie and Macca's Soccer final. The team have Brisbane Grammar School Jerseys, but I'm not 100% on wether they're called that. The played a great game and won 8-4. Good work guys! Macca especially since he wasn't wearing any lipstick this time. He put in some great work as goalie. Afterwards I raided Cashies for some CDs. What started out as a bag limit of two, ended up being six after I realised they had four more racks for me to plunder. By the time I got home that day, I also had 2 'new' DVDs in my possession. The haul of loot is as follows:

  • APOLLOFOURFORTY - GETTIN' HIGH ON YOUR OWN SUPPLY

  • FATBOY SLIM - better living through chemistry

  • Frenzal Rhomb - A Man's not a Camel

  • Kylie - Fever

  • Us 3 - broadway & 52nd

  • Streetlife Originals - sidewalk stories

  • Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine DVD

  • Adam Sandler's Anger Management DVD

Someone mentioned that I might have a problem with the amount of CDs that I buy. It's not really much of a change from the usual. I buy my CDs when I have money to spend and if I see a bargain. I also try and replace ones that have been stolen, since I have had my entire collection stolen about three times. Two of those were all in one hit. What can I say? I love music and I like to collect things. And what is life without music and love? Empty.

Sunday night at Maroochydore Baptist Church was the fourth instalment of the 40 Days of Purpose messages. It was quite good and actually spoke about one of the same verses I had heard earlier that day "Father, everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will, not mine" Mark 14:36. It's always interestingly non-coincidental when you go to two different churches in one day and get essentially the same message told twice

Coffee at Mooloolaba, post-churchness, was great as well. I met up with Mary-Ann, Flegg, Dane, Chan and Iona and ate sushi in front of them while they sipped their coffees enviously  > I would have shared, but I was starved after only having some Eggs Benedict at lunch time courtesy of Miss Tegan. It was very filling and delish. As the caffeine was starting to kick in, everyone started to get a little crazy at the table and pictures were being taken with great joyous abandon by all with my camera and phone. Here is just a Sample

I'm really starting to enjoy life lately. It has a LOT to do with the great and different friends I'm hanging out with every day of the week and the peace I find daily in trying to be more like Jesus. It's such a change from a few years ago. I'm so lucky and very thankful!
